Cons: Extreme low-light situations does result in video degradation

My First DV (or camcorder of any type)

Pros: Optical stabilization, fast zoom, fine DV images with good sharpness and color balance. Firewire.

Cons: Poorly designed, easily turned on power switch. Pathetic still images.

I paid $1135 for mine at B&H. Worth every penny of it!

Pros: Performs like a prosumer cam should. Feels good to the hand, steady shooting.

Cons: The on-board nightlight is an asinine feature.

Pros: Ease of use, good photos, great video, nice lens and accessories, Canon optics.

Cons: Switching between memory card and tape (awkward), eject interferes with quick-release plates.

Bottom Line:
A great buy. You can get a 1000 bells and whistles on a camcorder for much less, but in the end - software can't make up for lousy optics. Read More
